±1±: Best Buy I bought my son the Gentle Giraffe first because I thought it was cuter and a little more unique (seemed like everyone had the sheep). As cute as it was, its noises are nothing compared to the Sleep Sheep. Gentle Giraffe has mother's heartbeat (which we never use), a waterfall (the only one that I have found to be conducive to sleep), and two other selections with "giraffe" sounds in them that are more suitable for playtime. After seeing the full-size Sleep Sheep at my SIL's house, I figured we would give it a shot. I figured if it didn't work for him, I would use it myself :) We got the To-Go size--it's a more manageable size for us and doesn't have the mother's heartbeat sound (since we don't like that sound anyway, this wasn't a big deal). My son is sleeping much better with this--he likes all of the sounds. They do well to settle him down and sometimes we see him just laying there listening to it calmly. I would highly recommend this product. I especially like the To-Go size because it is small enough to throw in the Pack & Play, stroller, car seat, crib. You can also remove the soundbox from the stuffed animal so that the Sheep can be washed. on Sale!

±1±: Best Buy We received the Sleep Sheep as a gift and our son loves it! We've had it now for at least 6 months and the batteries are still going strong, despite using it for his two daily naps and at bedtime. The lamb itself is very soft and cuddly and our son particularly enjoys the 'rain' sounds. We bring this lamb with us everywhere for the soothing white noise. You can choose between either the 23 minute or 45 minute setting and the volume adjusts via dial. There is a velcro strap so you can affix the lamb to pretty much anything. I'd recommend this sweet nursery addition to anyone expecting a little one...I plan to give it as a shower gift to a friend later this month! on Sale!

±1±: Best Buy From birth to year one, you probably DON'T need a physical object making noise for your baby since you aren't supposed to put anything in the crib.
That said, I hang sleep sheep from the side of the co-sleeper, set it to 45 mins and hit the 'rain' option.
I don't mind at all the timing out of the sound. I like the idea that it helps baby fall asleep without creating an unneeded, night-long dependency.
Some babies 100% absolutely need the constant sound (get an MP3 player and docking station, download MP3 white noise of your choice and hit 'loop'), but if your baby does not then the timing out options are great.
I was also given a white noise bear by Carter's, but I simply pulled the sound box from it and 'attached' it the car seat so we have 'rain' for the road...ironic since I live in Seattle.
Overall, white noise of any kind I recommend, but if you like the cuteness of Sleep Sheep it's worth the buy.
Would be nice if FUTURE versions were MP3 compatible OR if they offered MP3 compatible inserts. That'd be handy as baby grows and you want OTHER types of night time music in a secure and cuddly location. on Sale!
